Troubleshooting

Common questions that may arise when using the Handheld can easily be addressed without the help of support. Some problem solving scenarios that will save you time are addressed below.

 

Q: How do I fix an invoice that came over with the wrong date?

A: Check the system date/time on the handheld. This can be accessed by double-clicking on the time at the bottom of the handheld screen. Refer to Part 4> Handheld General Info> Settings for the step-by-step process.

 

Q: How do I fix item that scan with no information (No cost, no description, etc...)?

A: The Pricebook on the handheld may need to be updated. Click Sync on the home screen, then upload data to handheld. If the issue still occurs the item is most likely new to the system and needs to be set-up properly in the main S2K system on your PC.

 

Q: Why aren’t the Vendors showing up on the Handheld?

A: Make sure the vendor has been set-up in main S2K system on your PC, then upload the Pricebook to the handheld by clicking Sync on the home screen then upload data.

 

Q: What do I do if the hardware fails (Keypad, scanning light, touch screen not working, unit freezes, etc...)?

A: The device needs to be rebooted. On the back on the handheld, next to the serial number barcode, there is a small black button. Press that in with the stylus and hold for a second then release. This will reboot the device and the issue should be resolved.

 

Q: Why isn’t my data uploading or downloading?

A: You need to check your wireless network connection. Your S2K HH needs a wireless connection in order for it to communicate with your S2K program on your PC. Refer to Part 4> Handheld General Info> Wi-Fi for the step-by-step process.

 

Q: I scanned an item, but the UPC is going in quantity field. How do I fix this?

A: This is a barcode setting issue outside of the S2K program. RESET your Bar Code Settings and follow the steps in Part 4> Handheld General Info> Settings to re-apply the barcode rules.
